Listing Submissions

The newsletter is sent out on Tuesday mornings. Submissions are due by 5pm Sunday evenings. Submissions received after 5pm on Sunday will be included in the following week's newsletter. Listings are free!

This newsletter is focused on the visual arts in the Pioneer Valley, so there are only two criteria for submissions:

Visual arts-related
Pioneer Valley area of western MA (Pioneer Valley is Hampshire, Hampden, and Franklin counties)

Featured Listings! Your event at the top!

Have your listing featured at the top of the listings, the first listing readers see! This top-billing is first-come first-serve, and you may reserve in advance. Prices (per issue): $25 for the top spot, $20 for the second spot, $15 for third spot. See below for details and available dates.

Listings policies:

as of Jan 2023

Art Exhibits / Events: listed up to two weeks in advance of start date, and deleted on end date.
Craft Fairs & Open Studios & Pop-up Shops: listed up to two weeks in advance of start date. Temporary pop-up and holiday shops selling work by local artists and makers are welcome but permanent brick & mortar stores will not be listed (please consider buying an ad instead).
Call to Artists / Artist Opportunities: listed up to 6 months in advance, deleted on deadline date. Open-ended listings (i.e. no end date) will be listed for eight weeks. You are welcome to re-submit your listing. Preference is given to Pioneer Valley area calls/opportunities; though I may list, at my discretion, calls/opportunities outside the Pioneer Valley area.
Classes: listed up to three months in advance, deleted on start date. A maximum of three classes per organization can be listed per issue. If you are offering multiple classes, you may combine them into one listing. Open-ended listings (i.e. no end date) will be listed for eight weeks. You are welcome to re-submit your listing.
Studio / Artist Space Available: listed for four weeks. Please notify me if the space has been rented within that time. You are welcome to re-list a space if it's still available after four weeks.
Crowdfunding: listed up to one week in advance of start date, and deleted on end date. Nearly anything visual-art related will be considered via Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or GoFundMe (including funding for individual artists and artists-in-need). Please contact me with any questions.
Images: JPG or PNG format only. Please note that images will be resized down to 200px width, and a maximum of 300px height. Image credit can only be added as part of the 500-character listing description (see listings formats below). Listing images are only shown with the listings on the website, and no longer in the email version (it was getting too large to email so the images were removed to reduce the size, rather than cut listings).
Errors/Omissions: Every effort is made to accurately post your listing, but occasionally mistakes will happen. If you spot a typo, please let me know and I will correct it ASAP.

Please note that I don't post listings for business services, jobs, or real estate. Please consider purchasing an ad for this purpose. Ads run for four weeks and cost between $20 to $75 depending on size and placement (15% discount for a year-long ad).

Non-visual arts submissions: The newsletter is only visual arts at this time. Film/video art installations are welcome, but non-art films will probably not be listed.

Theater submissions: Theater-related events will be listed if there is a visual art component (e.g. concurrent exhibit, arts fundraiser, etc). There is a local newsletter devoted to theater, Western Mass Theatre News, which lists all things theater-related in the valley.

Berkshire County events: This newsletter is Hampden, Hampshire, and Franklin counties only. There is a new Berkshire visual arts calendar and newsletter, Art in the Berkshires, which lists visual arts events/etc in Berkshire county.

Please don't send a listing as an image only, or flattened PDF. It's too time-consuming to decipher and type out text information contained in an image. This kind of submission will no longer be accepted.

Featured Listings

On the website and newsletter: your listing appears at the top of the listings.
One week/issue: $25 for the top spot, $20 for the second spot, $15 for the third spot.
First come, first serve. See dates available below.
The second spot is only available if the top spot is taken, and third spot available if second is taken.
Payment is due at time of your request to ensure your reservation. (I'll email you an invoice).
Payment accepted via check or PayPal.
Reservations are non-refundable.
To be fair to everyone, I kindly request that you don't reserve more than four consecutive weeks at a time, nor more than one spot per week.
Please note that this is a paid listing, not a banner ad, so listing submissions requirements apply (see "Listings policies" above). Exhibits/Events are listed up to two weeks in advance of start date. **Please make sure your exhibit/event occurs within two weeks of the dates you want to reserve.**
